ENGINES
The use of diesel engines in yachts causes a negligible increase of weight. Light high performance diesel engines offer a solution for many problems of the motorboat owners. Often the engines are to heavy and the power too low so the boat never reaches the planing.
To increase the speed you need more powerful engines. These more powerful engines are heavier so you can't solve the problem.
By building diesel engines with the lighter materials and the techniques out of the racing you can develop the double of the power with a lighter engine. Many heavy iron parts can be replaced by light weighted. The bolts and the bearings can be replaced by high performance parts. A special compressor with high flow replaces the turbo which does not perform so well in the marine applications. Timing and injection are adjusted to match the new performance capacities, and a combination of fuels enhances the combustion. This gives a cleaner engine which delivers more power.
